Preserving the American Spirit in the Danbury Area
Promoting Patriotism
| Each year our chapter is proud to give out DAR Good Citizens Awards, ROTC Bronze Medal Awards and DAR Scholarships, to local High School students who have demonstrated outstanding dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. |

Educational Programs
 |
The old school house at the Danbury Museum and Historical Society is the setting for our chapter's annual program for children. Local school children have an opportunity to see demonstrations of life in early America such as "A Soldier's Life in 1776" and "Education in a One-Room Schoolhouse". |
Preserving American History
| In 1941 our chapter members took a leadership role and saved Rider House, ca 1785, from demolition and helped begin what is now the Danbury Museum & Historical Society. We maintain a room in the historic Rider House, a nationally recognized landmark, where our collection of revolutionary period artifacts is on permanent display. |

Community Service
 |
Mary Wooster Chapter members joined the "Centennial Celebration" of the American Red Cross. The Mary Wooster Chapter has always been a community minded service organization. In 1906, chapter members recognized a vital need in our area and were instrumental in the founding of the American Red Cross of Western Connecticut. |
