On this site are the complete records of the General Court and General Assembly of the Colony of Connecticut, 1636-1776. Originally published in 11 volumes, this collection also includes the 1639-1665 records of the Particular Court.

Connecticut History Online is a collaboration among the Connecticut Historical Society, Connecticut State Library, the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center at the University of Connecticut,the Mystic Seaport Museum, and the New Haven Colony Historical Society. The web site features over 14,000 images that can be searched by keyword, subject, creator, title, or date. A simple search of the word "Middletown" yields 166 "hits" of photographs and drawings dating back to 1835.

Middletown first settler families: Books available online

Middletown Upper Houses by Charles Collard Adams (1908)

Jane Devlin's "Dunham-Wilcox-Trrott-Kirk" web site includes a partial transcription (by Coralyn Brown, Liz Matthews, and Dona Ritchie) of Middletown Upper Houses, a history of the North Society of Middletown, Connecticut from 1650 to 1800, with genealogical and biographical chapters on early families, and a full genealogy of the Ranney family. The transcription includes the chapters on individual families, but not the first 97 pages of local history. At present the Ranney family genealogy is complete for the first four generations only.
