Biography:

Daisy's Roots, is my contribution to the on-line genealogical community by sharing my genealogy and helping others "find their roots."

My home page encompasses the many areas of on-line genealogy. It includes my personal genealogy pages, the thirty five or so locational websites that I host for the USGenWeb and information about my On-line Genealogical Discussion Mailing Lists, not only for each county I host but for most of the surnames that I research.

I am mother and grandmother of three. My family and my genealogy is my life.
Being raised in the Mormon tradition, genealogy was easy for me.  I learned at a very young age its importance. The basics of my work comes from my grandfather, who taught genealogy. I was lucky to have an
extended family and was able to draw from their knowledge.

Although I work full time in a large metropolitan Emergency Room / Trauma Center, outside of Washington, DC, I still find time to be on-line at least eight hours a day, feed my husband, Steve and my black cat, Toby. Not necessarily in that order!!

The USGenWeb project and the USGenWeb Archives have been a very big part of my life since its beginnings in 1996. I have tried to host pages and discussion lists in the areas of my research and I answer hundreds of e-mails weekly. It gives me a warm feeling to be able to help others, if not personally, then by providing a way for them to help themselves through their own on-line research.

I am an advocate for the USGenWeb Archives and Tombstone Project, to have free
data, fully accessible and searchable on line. My archive projects include the
MO Archives, the NC Archives and Tombstone Project,
the Mason & Fleming County, KY  archives, all of my Illinois counties
and most recently, the DC Archives and Tombstone Project.

I wholly support The USGenWeb Project because of the opportunities it presents to people "looking for their roots". The USGenWeb Project may not have all the answers but, I am committed to offering support, encouragement and a way to help find those answers!
