| A memorial monument has been placed in the Steele Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery where it is believed both were buried. Many family genealogies state there were eleven sons in the Wilson family, but only ten have been identified. Seven of these sons are known to have participated in the Revolutionary War, and ten are known to have moved to middle Tennessee in the area of southeast Williamson County near Harpeth River. |

1. Joseph Wilson born about 1749 JOSEPH WILSON was born before 1760 and died about 16 Jun 1823 in Williamson Co. TN. He married (2) JANE MITCHELL 10 Aug 1798 in Mecklenburg Co. NC.
2. Aaron A. Wilson born about 1751 AARON A. WILSON was born about 1751 in Mecklenburg Co. NC, and died about 1833 in Marshall Co. TN. It is believed Aaron A. Wilson was buried in the Wilson Cemetery, Chapel Hill, Tennessee, although at this time there is no stone.
3. John Wilson born about 1753 JOHN WILSON was born about 1753. Not much is known about John although we know he was a soldier in the Revolution and had been captured by the British along with his father in August 1780. John apparently moved to the Williamson County area of Tennessee before 1810.
4. James Wilson born 25 Sep 1757 JAMES WILSON was born 25 Sep 1757 in Mecklenburg Co. NC, and died 11 Apr 1843 in Marshall Co. TN. He married (1) RUTH DAVIDSON and (2) SARAH OGILVIE, or UNKNOWN.
5. Robert Wilson born 1760 ROBERT WILSON was born about 1760 in Mecklenburg Co. NC, and died 10 Jun 1819 in Williamson Co. TN (buried family cemetery near Allisona). He married JANE MCDOWELL, daughter of WILLIAM MCDOWELL and ELLEN.
6. Samuel Wilson born about 1762 SAMUEL WILSON was born 1762 in Mecklenburg Co. NC, and died before Jul 1812 in Williamson Co. TN. He married MARTHA CLARK.
7. Zaccheus Wilson born Nov 1765 (the 7th son) ZACCHEUS WILSON was born Nov 1765 in Mecklenburg Co., NC, and died 21 Oct 1842 in Williamson Co. TN . He is buried in the cemetery near Allisona, TN.
8. Josiah Wilson born Oct 1766 JOSIAH WILSON was born Oct 1766 in Mecklenburg Co. NC, and died about December 1851 in Marshall Co. TN. He married MARY.
9. Thomas Wilson born about 1767 THOMAS WILSON was born about. 1767 in Mecklenburg Co. NC, and died between 1818 and October 1821 in Williamson Co. TN. He married MARGARET.

11. Moses Wilson born July 1769 (the 11th son) MOSES WILSON never married and his estate was administered by James M. Wilson, 31 Dec 1852, Marshall Co. Bk. B-95. Moses Wilson was buried in the Wilson Cemetery, Chapel Hill, Marshall County, TN. His tombstone reads: "In Memory of Moses Wilson, born July 1769, died July 18, 1850, a bachelor and 11th son of R. & E. Wilson of N.C". |
