DAR PROJECT PATRIOT - Over the last several years the chapter has had several projects in support of our troops serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. These projects have included throwing a baby shower for the families of injured soldiers staying at the Fisher Houses while going through physical therapy at Walter Reed Medical Center, a Car Show and Watermelon Social for the soldiers at Walter Reed, sending DVDs, magazines, and goody bags to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center; and of course cards, books, magazines, and other items to our troops in harm's way. |

VETERANS - Once a year the Eleanor Wilson Chapter sponsors "BINGO with the Vets." We provide goody bags, prizes, refreshments and play BINGO with the hospitalized veterans at the Washington DC VA Medical Center. Throughout the year chapter members collect books, magazines, puzzle books, calendars, and other items of interest and comfort that are distributed by our State DAR Service for Veterans Committee to veterans in Washington, DC.

|
LITERACY – The chapter donates historic and patriotic books for children of all ages to be distributed by a local charity for children who do not have books of their own. Some members actively promote literacy by reading to children after school.

SCHOOLS – In support of the DAR Schools across the country members collect Campbell Soup labels.
