Below is a list of Revolutionary War ancestors of current members of the Eleanor Wilson Chapter, NSDAR. If you see any names you recognize in your direct ancestry, then you may be eligible to join the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Our Revolutionary ancestors hail from 12 of the original 13 colonies - Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Virginia, and Vermont. They include patriotic civil servants, patriotic citizens that gave aide and comfort to the cause, along with privates, sergeants, captains, and a few lieutenants, one chaplain and one colonel. Some of their service included: providing beef and clothes to the Continental Army; shoeing 37 horses; serving at Valley Forge; serving as Indian spies and scouts; along with fighting at numerous battles including the battle of Coosawatchie Bridge, Trenton, Point Pleasant, and Yorktown. |
