National Society Daughters of the American Colonists
New Amstel Chapter

In the mid-1600's, Dutch settler Peter Stuyvesant established a community on the Delaware River that he named New Amstel. When the English took control of all New Netherland, the town's name was changed to that by which it is known today: New Castle. The New Amstel Chapter was organized on January 28, 1978, by Organizaing Regent Joann Jones. Most members are from the local area; however, some members are from other areas, as well. Local residency is not a requirement for membership in any chapter.

The New Amstel Chapter meets four times a year in March, June, September, and December. If you would like to attend one of our meetings, please contact us.

We welcome any woman for membership who is a citizen of the United States of America, of good moral character, who has attained her eighteenth year. Information on membership in the National Society Daughters of the American Colonists can be found here.
