SALMON posted by John Reid on Saturday, August 14, 2004

I'm searching for information about James SALMON, who lived in Sussex Co., DE and left a will dated 6 Oct 1777, according to another family researcher. James is possibly my 5th g-grandfather. I've not seen a copy of the will, but it apparently references four children: Joseph, James, Annabel and Liddia. I have no information about James' parents or his wife or details about his birth/death/burial. Any leads or information would be appreciated.

BETTS posted by Charles Keith Betts on Friday, October 8, 2004

BETTS, Isaac, 1803 Sussex County, Delaware. I am trying to trace back the BETTS side of my family. I believe Isaac was the father of Soloman BETTS, who was the father of Harry BETTS (Harry could have been his middle name), who was the father of Harry Millard BETTS (1902), who was the father of Charles Millard BETTS, who was my father. I know Isaac and Solomon are buried in the cemetery at Union Church in Ellendale (Broad Kiln Hundred), in Sussex County, Delaware. I was told that a Samuel BETTS left Delaware for Georgia around 1792, and that one of his sons was John or Jonathan. I would appreciate any information that could help with a link beyond Isaac.

EMBERSON, EMERSON, HEARN, HEARNE posted by Dolores Coglas on Saturday, January 22, 2005

William EMBERSON was found on the 1790 reconstructed census for Little Creek Hundred, Sussex Co., Delaware. The surname HEARN or HEARNE was also found in Little Creek Hundred. William EMBERSON married Sally HEARN March 4, 1796 in Sussex County, Delaware. My proven ancestor Benjamin EMBERSON was born in Delaware about 1798. In 1830 the Benjamin EMBERSON family lived in Jefferson Co., Indiana. I would be interested in any information on the EMBERSON or EMERSON family and the HEARN family in Sussex County before 1800.
