The Schevenhütte Files The Schevenhütte Files has been updated.   This includes Reiner Sauer's presentation of a "cluster genealogy" for the locations:   Schevenhütte, Gressenich, Mausbach, Werth and Vicht; from the former township of Gressenich.   All of these places today are part of the city of Stolberg. 07/29/2003

I am pleased to inform you that a new internet-site covering the history of Northrhine-Westphalia 1946-2002 has been launched by our institution, the Central for Civic Education of the State of Northrhine-Westphalia. Most of the information on this site is bilingual, so you can access the site in a german and in an english version. For the english version just type the URL www.geschichte.nrw.de and hit the "English"-button located on the lower right of the first screen.05/16/2002

An Offer to Translate Richard Scheimann is available for short, free German to English translations of documents. Scanned images should be under 700 KB if possible, and no more than 1 MB. He can usually respond within a week, and the bulk of his experience is with church records, both Catholic and Evangelisch05/16/2002.
