The Ancestral Rescue Club was set up by a group of genealogy students. Their aim was to introduce others into the hobby and offer support and advice to anyone who needed it. We started in September 1999 and have been steadily growing in numbers since. We chose the name because we hope to help you to rescue your ancestors and help keep their names alive. We are entirely voluntary and any money we do make is turned back into the club funds for use by members.
The club is designed with everyone in mind who is researching their families past, regardless of experience or family origins. We offer support and help with your research in a friendly and informal setting. We will not research your tree for you but we will try to guide you onto the right track to conduct your own research. Although we are based in Staffordshire, England, our research is not confined to this area.
The club offers support and help with your research in a friendly and informal setting, the use of our small selection of library books and microfiche are available to members. A microfiche reader is also available at our meetings by request. Guest speakers have also been enlisted and are listed on our meetings page. Members may ask questions, exchange ideas and views as well as give talks on their research, if they wish.
Membership to the club is for a whole family under one roof at £12 per year. Subscription starts in September and continues until the end of August the following year.
Payment is in pounds sterling. Unfortunately at present we are unable to accept payment by credit or debit cards. For further enquiries please e-mail us and we will try and help.
