| 1905 | Frederick Henry Chase made Bishop of Ely |
| 1908 | Under the Haldane Reforms a closer integration of the Volunteers with the Regular Army was instigated creating the Territorial Force. The Cambridgeshire Militia was one of 23 battalions to be disbanded. |
| 1908-14 | The 3rd (Cambridgeshire) Volunteer Battalion The Suffolk Regiment becomes the 1st Battalion The Cambridgeshire Regiment (TF). |
| 1911 | Eighth National Census carried out. Under the 100 year rule details will be publically available in 2012. |
| 1914 | Start of World War I. |
