St. Nicholas church has an unusually long and narrow nave. The north aisle of the nave was added in the late 13th C with an arcade of six bays, later supported by flying buttresses. There is a 15th C clerestory with embattled parapet. The west tower is late 14th C with an embattled parapet and diagonal buttresses with crocketed and panelled pinnacles. Inside the church, the walls are scraped and the floors stone-flagged. The stone font comprises a 16th C octagonal bowl and pillar on a 14th C pedestal and plinth. The stained glass east window is by Hardman; the other windows are mainly by Kempe.
