St. George's was mostly rebuilt in the late 15th Century, probably circa 1475 for William Whitchurch, Abbot of Hailes. The church has a well-designed Perpendicular style West tower of three stages complete with diagonal buttresses, battlements and pinnacles. This tower rises from inside the nave and is supported on three sides by open arches visible in the interior.
The open roofs, of trussed rafter and queenpost construction, were exposed during restoration by Sir Philip Scott in 1923. The walls are limewashed. The font is Dec/Perp style and was carved and presented in 1858 by William Edwards, mason and church warden. There is stained glass in the church by Edward Payne circa 1850; and also contemporary glass by Edward Payne dating from the 1960's.
