The manor belonged to Pershore Abbey, Worcestershire, until the Dissolution. St. Mary the Virgin's church is mainly Perp with Early English and Dec remains. It has an imposing west tower of six stages with a small embattled parapet with gargoyles; a stair-turret with 19th C spirelet; and diagonal buttresses. Inside the church there is a considerable rise in floor level with nine steps from west to east. The 14th C south arcade is four bay with octagonal piers and double-chamfered arches. There are Perp doorways to the rood loft. The two fonts date from the 17th C. The octagonal bowl on the fluted base is the one in use. The stained glass chancel window dates from 1916 and is by Daniells & Fricker. There are fine chest-tombs and clipped yews in the churchyard.
