St. Catherine's belonged to the Benedictine priory at Deerhurst. The oldest parts of the church date to the 13th C. It consists of a nave, chancel, south transept, south porch, small north vestry and a Perp west tower. There are Perp windows in the top stage of the tower which has an embattled parapet with gargoyles. There are diagonal buttresses to the lower stages. The porch is of restored timber framing. There are two fonts. The old font is 15th C, octagonal and carved with quatrefoils with foliated centres. The cover to that font is 17th C. The other font is a Victorian one. There is no chancel arch in the church and the 14th C roof still has its original braced collar-beam trusses and chamfered tiebeams. The church was restored in 1885. The owner of Leigh Court nearby displays a uniquely Gloucestershire sense of humour.
