St. Bartholomew's was designed by the incumbent vicar, Rev. George Madan in 1844 in Dec style. The church consists of nave, south aisle, chancel with north vestry, and a bellcote and spirelet over the chancel arch. The five-bay south arcade has filleted quatrefoil piers and foliage capitals. The nave has a hammerbeam roof on carved stone corbels. The external cornice of the church has widely spaced stone ballflowers. The font is Dec style. The stained glass east window is by Lavers, Barraud & Westlake, 1889. The nave window in memory of Rev. George Madan is by Jones & Willis, 1900; and the south aisle east window is by H.J. Stammers, 1966.
