All Saints church - also known as 'The Cathedral of the Forest - is
entrancingly situated in hilly, tree-clad country. The existing church dates from the 13th Century. It was restored by William White in 1861. At that time it was in an almost ruinous state. It was during this restoration that the high clerestory windows in the nave were inserted. Buttresses were also added to the church where required. The font is dated 1661 and is carved from Forest limestone. It features shields
in cartouches and, on the shaft, plain leaves and elementary geometrical motifs. There is much fine stained glass in the church - some old and incorporating fragments of medieval glass; and one contemporary - a blue and green window featuring the 'tree of life'. Clayton & Bell made the main East window behind the altar.
Kempe also produced stained glass for this church.
