Pauntley, at the best part of the Leadon Valley, should be seen in spring when the wild daffodils are in flower. The church is mostly Norman but has a tower probably built by Dick Whittington, who was born here about the middle of the 14th Century and went on to be thrice Lord Mayor of London.
