St. James church, until the Dissolution, belonged to Llanthony Priory. It has
a 14th C tower with a tall and picturesque solid broach-spire, south arcade
and chapel; and was otherwise rebuilt by H. Woodyer in 1856. The font is 19th
C with Jacobean cover. There is a stained glass window by Kempe.
