St. John the Apostle's, 1819-1820, is by John Wright; and was enlarged in 1872 by Francis Niblett. The tower is of unusually small proportions with an ogee lead roof and four tiny corner pinnacles. The tower rises from a porch; either side, the gable is masked by sloping parapets ending in pilasters with pinnacles. Niblett's enlargement of the church added the sanctuary, vestry and south aisle. The font, dated 1849, is in the Gothick style. There is stained glass in the church by W.H. Constable, 1872; and James Powell & Sons, 1920.
