St. Peter's was restored in 1876-77 by J.E.K. Cutts. The church was originally Late Norman with a north aisle. The chancel was rebuilt in the 14th C and a little later the three-stage west tower was added. The upper stage of the tower has battlements and pinnacles. The Norman south doorway has chevron mouldings and an incised tympanum. The carved font is circa 1400 and is octagonal with ogee panels. An 1886 copy of this font was made by Cutts, discarded, then returned to the church. Both fonts are now in the church. There is stained glass in the church by Tom Denny, 1995; and several by Clayton & Bell - east window 1882, north side of chancel window 1886, south side of chancel windows 1877, south side of nave window 1889; and north side of north aisle window 1901.
