St. James consists of a small nave and chancel, mostly rebuilt in 1855-56 by T.H. Wyatt, who added the south porch and north vestry. Wyatt retained the massive mid-13th Century bellcote with its octagonal pyramidal canopy, and original bell, on the gable above the chancel arch. The interior walls are lime-washed. The stone font is by Wyatt. There is stained glass in the church by William Miller, 1856; and Ward & Hughes, late 19th Century. There are a few 18th Century chest tombs in the churchyard.
