St. Lawrence (formerly St. John The Baptist) is a 14th C church but restored to such an extent by Frederick Preedy in the mid 19th C that only the Perp west tower survives unaltered. This tower has three stages, diagonal buttresses, and battlements with gargoyles and pinnacles. Preedy's main work dates from 1853-61, when the nave roof was raised. There are trefoil-headed lancet windows in the nave, and larger windows in the chancel. The font consists of a square 20th C bowl and a restored Early English base with shafts attached to a central pillar. The pulpit is Jacobean with typical blank arches. The stained glass windows are all by Preedy.
