In the name of God Amen I Thomas COX of Rosliston in the county of Derby Yeoman being weak in body but of sound mind and disposing memory and understanding do make publish and ordain this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say First I will order and direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses shall be fully paid and satisfied and with the payment thereof I subject and charge all my real and personal estates. Also I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Sarah COX all her chatles and weaving apparel and also new mourning of all sorts and such parts of my household goods as she shall please to take not exceeding the value of Thirty Pounds in the whole. Also I give and bequeath unto my sons Thomas COX and Francis COX and unto each of them the sum of Two Hundred Pounds of lawful money of Great Britain over and besides what they are entitled to under my marriage settlement to be paid to them and each of them within twelve months next after my death and with the payment thereof subject and charge all my real and personal estates. Also I give unto my said sons Thomas COX and Francis COX and unto each of them the sum of Two Hundred Pounds of lawful money of Great Britain over and besides the last mentioned legacies and what they are entitled to under my said marriage settlement to be paid to them and each of them within twelve months next after the death of my said wife Sarah COX without any interest in the mean time and with the payment thereof I also subject and charge all my real and personal estates Provided always and it is my will and I do order and direct that in case my said wife Sarah COX shall not permit and assign(?) her present estate at Linton in the said County of Derby and every part thereof to descend at her death unto my son John COX and his heirs then the last mentioned legacies of Two Hundred Pounds to each of my said sons Thomas COX and Francis COX or and part of either of them shall not be paid but shall sink into my said real and personal estate for the benefit of my said son John COX his heirs executors or administrators and assigns And subject to and after the payment of my debts funeral expenses and legacies aforesaid I do give devise and bequeath all my messuages closes lands household goods money securities for money goods chattels and real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my said son John COX his heirs executors administrators and assigns for ever. And lastly I constitute nominate and appoint my said son John COX and my friends William ROBERTS of Rosliston aforesaid Malster and Thomas LEEDHAM or Rosliston aforesaid Farmer executors of this my last will and testament and I hereby revoke and make void all and every other will and wills by me at anytime herebefore made and do declare this my last will and testament in witness whereof the said Thomas COX the testator have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty seventh day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven.
Signed sealed published and declared by the said Thomas COX as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses to the same.

Let a probat be made to John COX one of the executors reserving a power for William ROBERTS and Thomas LEEDHAM the other executors to prove in like manner.
The said John COX was duly sworn and also that the personal estate of the deceased will not amount in value to £300 before me T. BUCKERIDGE
