|I have just relocated back to my
hometown in Westchester County, New York USA with my cat
I am the ggggranddaughter of William Thomas & Sara Bishop Trathen of Cornwall, England and their son Thomas B. & Jane Marks Trathen whom migrated from Cornwall England to Michigan, USA +/- 1863 by ship which docked in New York Harbor. Thomas being a miner relocated his wife and children to Iron Mountain, Michigan by way of covered wagon [train] with other miners and their families... Then in March 1888 relocated with their children, children's spouses and grandchildren by way of cover wagon [train] the trip taking 3 days to what is now known as Ossining [Sparta] New York arriving during The Blizzard of 1888.
At the moment I am fighting through the inevitable genealogy brickwall.
Other than family history my hobbies include hand quilting, & sewing (I have many a fond memory of sitting in my yard with my maternal grandmother & her sisters as they taught me to cross stitch and other types of fancy stitch, on pillowcases & hankies).
