These extractions from the "Minutes" book of the Board of Guardians are summaries, not the full entries. They are designed to let you know what names occur in the Minutes Book. You may need to do further research in the Lincolnshire Archives or other resources to trace your family members.
- Note: An "orphan" was someone who had lost one parent, not both.
- There are a large number of marriage notices in the first volume of
Gainsborough Workhouse Minutes, transcribed by Pat Pomeroy. As the majority appear to have taken place at Non-Conformist churches and Register Offices, they may be useful. These notices are not of course proof that the marriage took place. Anne Cole will give all the information that she has on each marriage. The dates are those of the meetings of the Board of Guardians at which the marriage notices were given, NOT the date of marriage. G'bro = Gainsborough
