Sotby
Sotby is both a village and a parish in the Wolds, 16 miles east-northeast of Lincoln, 8 miles northwest of Horncastle and 5 miles east of Wragby. Great Sturton parish lies to the south and Ranby parish to the east. The parish covers about 1,600 acres.
In 1871, Sotby was an old village of thatched houses. If you are planning a visit:

- The Anglican parish church is dedicated to St. Peter.
- The church may have been erected by the Saxons about the time of the Norman Conquest.
- There is evidence that the existing church was erected on the foundations of a still older building, presumably a church.
- The church was rebuilt in 1857.
- The church seats 100.
- The Diocese of Lincoln declared this church redundant in May, 1981. The building was sold as a monument in November, 1986.

- The Anglican parish register dates from 1658.
