This village and parish is 6 miles northwest of Horncastle. The parish only covers about 940 acres.

Church History
- The Anglican parish church is dedicated to St. Margaret.
- In 1900, the church was closed and used only as a mortuary chapel.
- The Diocese of Lincoln declared this church redundant in April of 1975. In March of 1978 it saw new life as a store.

Poorhouses, Poor Law, etc.
- As a result of the 1834 Poor Law Amendment Act, the parish became part of the Horncastle Poor Law Union.
- In 1848, Mrs. BAKER left the interest on £300 for the poor, distributed in coal.
