RUAN LANIHORNE PARISH, CORNWALL

Welcome to the Ruan Lanihorne web site.

On this site I hope to bring together parish records and other information relating to Ruan Lanihorne to assist those interested in the parish and the people that once lived here.

The parish of Ruan Lanihorne has three villages, Treworgey, Ruan High Lanes and Ruan Lanihorne. The parish is one of several that comprise the Roseland Peninsular. Ruan Lanihorne is the biggest village in the parish and is the location of the local church. Situated in a valley at the head of Ruan Creek which is one of the many tributaries of the River Fal.

For those interested in family history I have provided transcriptions (dates as below) of the parish records. Warning - please note that I have done my best to make my transcriptions as accurate as possible but it is easy to misread old handwriting. Therefore please make sure you check the original records before you rely on any information from my transcriptions.

Please feel free to contact me at I have many trees built for the families that lived in the village in the 1800’s and contacts for people interested in them. I also have a large collection of old photographs.
