I, John Woolley, of George Street, in the parish of St.Mary le bone in the county of Middlesex, gentleman, do make this my last will and testament in manner following (that is to say) first I order all my just debts and funeral expences to be paid and discharged. I give and bequeath to my nephew William Woolley son of my late brother Henry Woolley the sum of fifty pounds and to my niece Sarah Chapman of the parish of Sudbury in the county of Derby the sum of twenty pounds and to my cousin Thomas Davis of Bow Street Bloomsbury five pounds which legacies I direct to be paid in twelve months after my death. I give my household messuage and premises in George Street aforesaid wherein I now reside to my brother George Woolley and to my niece Frances Woolley his daughter their executors administrators and assigns to and for their own proper and absolute use and benefit. And I also give to the said Frances Woolley my spring clock. I give and bequeath to my brother James Woolley and to his heirs and assigns forever all my freehold estates situate at Draycott in the Clay in the parish of Handbury in the county of Stafford and I give and devise all my copyhold estates situate in the parish of Handbury aforesaid unto my said brother James Woolley his heirs and assigns forever according to the custom of the manor or manors under which the same are held. And I give and bequeath to my dear wife Margaret Woolley and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life an annuity or that yearly payment of twelve pounds of lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland to be paid and payable to her by four quarterly payments in the year (that is to say) Christmas Day Lady Day Midsummer Day and Michaelmas Day in every year and the first quarterly payment of the said annuity to begin and be paid upon such of the said days as shall first happen after my decease and I charge and make liable the residue and remainder of my personal estate hereinafter bequeathed to and with the payment thereof and I authorise and empower my executors hereinafter named to deduct and pay such annuity thereout or from out of the interest dividend and annual product arising from such residue and remainder of my personal estate And I give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature kind or sort ? not hereinafter before disposed of subject to the payment of the said annuity unto my said brother James Woolley and the said Thomas Davis their executors and administrators upon trust to convert the same or part thereof as is not already invested in the public funds into money and layout and invest the same in the purchase of stock in the said funds or other Government security or securities and upon further trust to pay and apply or permit and suffer the said James Woolley and his assigns to ? the interest dividends and annual product arising from such residue and remainder of my said personal estate (subject to the said annuity) for and during the term of his natural life and after the decease of my said brother James Woolley I give and bequeath the whole of such residue and remainder of my said personal estate and effects subject to the said annuity unto between and amongst all and every the children of my said brother James Woolley namely Sarah Ann James Esther(or Eleanor?) Charles Nathaniel and Martha in equal share and proportions and if any of them die in the lifetime of their father leaving any child or children the child or children of every of them dying shall have and ? their parents share but in case any of them die in their father’s lifetime without any child or children the survivors of them shall take the share or shares therein of each of them so dying in equal proportions. And I nominate constitute and appoint my said brother James Woolley and the said Thomas Davis executors of this my will hereby revoking all former wills by me heretofore made. In witness whereof I the said John Woolley have hereunto set my hand and seal this second day of November in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four. John Woolley signed sealed delivered published and declared by the above named John Woolley as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who have subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the testator and of each other Richard Albany, George Street Edward Rider? Upper Mary le bone St, David Booth Duke Street. This will was proved at London the thirteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six before the Worshipful Charles Coote Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Honourable Sir William Wynne Knight also Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of James Woolley the brother of the deceased and one of the executors named in the said will to whom administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased was granted having been first sworn duly to administer power reserved of making the like grant to Thomas Davis the other executor named in the said will when he shall apply for the same (Further paragraph in the margin ) On the 23rd day of Jan.y 1822 admon (with the will ? goods chattels and credits of John Woolley late of the Stamp Office and of George Street in the parish of St.Mary le bone in the county of Middlesex ? before ? by James Woolley decd. Whilst living the brother one of the executors and one of the residuary legatees in trust and also ? legatee for life named in the said will was granted to James Woolley the nephew and one of the residuary legatees ? ? in the said will having been first sworn duly to administer . Thomas Davis the other surviving exor. and residuary legatee in trust having first renounced? The probate and execution of the said will and also the letters of admon. ? with the said will ? of the goods of ? Decd.
