The Diocese of Clogher (Church of Ireland) covers all of the county
except the town of Clones and the surrounding countryside. There are
church records (baptisms, marriages, burials) for Clones going back to
the 1600's but I have been unable to find the same sort of record for
Clogher.
According to Ryan "Irish Records", all the RC records have been
indexed by Monaghan Ancestry and all are avail through the National
Library of Ireland and LDS. Clones start with births at 1848.
CI exists from 1829. Salt lake (897416) has some births in the
range of 1682-1733, 1755-1873, marriages 1682-1704, d 1682-1704
and 1796-1990)
