   Annual Apopka Festival of Trees  

 The Apopka Historical Society will hold its annual Festival of Trees started Dec. 1and will run until 8 at the Museum of the Apopkans, 122 E. Fifth Street. The festival is an Apopka tradition that many families and residents have enjoyed over the years 

A special Lighting of the Trees ceremony was held on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 5:15 p.m, complete with live entertainment. The festival features specially decorated Christmas trees, designed and decked out by individuals and businesses from throughout the Apopka community. 

Presenting sponsors include Duke Energy, Waste Management, BankFirst and Joe Kilsheimer Consulting, Inc. Supporting sponsors include WalMart and Nelsonís Insurance. Proceeds from the Festival of Trees will benefit the Historical Societyís scholarship fund.   

Admission to the Festival of Trees is free. In addition to enjoying the holiday decorations, guests also can purchase items at a special gift shop featuring baked items and locally grown plants and more.

Hours of operation for the museum for this event will be as follows:

December 2 thru 7 - 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

December 8 - 4:30 to 7 p.m.

During these hours you can view the trees and bid on your favorite  Final bidding on the trees will be Sunday, December 8.
