Family History and Pioneers
For the purpose of this website, a pioneer is any person or family residing in the area of New River County that became Baker County before or at the time of Baker County's creation in 1861 or moved into the area between 1861 and 1870 and remained in Baker County.
A list of those persons is being compiled from the 1860 and 1870 Federal census and the federal and state Bureau of Land Management records. We encourage you to submit your Baker County Pioneers, their stories, photographs, documents and records for placement on this website.
