Turner Hunt Harmon was born July 28, 1838 in Georgia near Macon. In 1876 he moved to St. Andrews Bay and settled on the Farley place, which is now the Harmon Addition in the Cove area in Panama City. Mr. Harmon was closely connected with the teaching of children and was elected a Washington County Commissioner in 1889, He walked the distance to commission meetings held in Vernon. Mr. Harmon died 13 June 1910 in Washington County, Florida. Not present at the awards ceremony were his certified descendants Gail Murfee Knowles, Amanda Susan Vossen, Kiersten Taylor Vossen, Elizabeth Kate Vossen, Charlotte Murfee Strickland, Jessica Lynn Strickland, and Joshua Lee Strickland.
