Lelon Ephriam Vickery (the elder) (left) was born about 1826 in Tennessee. He arrived in Florida by 1853 and registered to vote in Washington County in 1867. With blue eyes, brown hair, and fair skin, he stood five feet six and one-half inches. He enlisted at St. Andrews in Company E, 2nd Regiment of the Florida Infantry on 8 May 1863 during the Civil War. After being captured, he enlisted in the 2nd Florida U.S. Calvary, Company E. He farmed and operated a ferry on Bear Creek by 1863. He died 6 February 1892.
Ann M. Porter (right)was born about 1838 in Florida, a daughter of Charles T. Porter. She married Lelon Ephriam Vickery (the elder) on 8 August 1867. After her husband died, she was awarded a small pension based on his military service during the Civil War. She died about 1894.
