William Henry Marshall, was born 20 May 1879 in Georgia. W.H. left the Faceville, Decatur County, Georgia area between 1880 and 1900 and settled in Calhoun County, Florida (probably Wewa). He was in the area that became Bay County by 19 January 1908 when he married Idumea C. Gray at the home of her father J. C. Gray in Millville. Idumea was born 4 September 1891 in Alabama. William Henry purchased property at 2321 E. 3rd Street in the Welch’s Addition to Millville in February 1908. After the marriage William Henry and Idumea stayed with her sister Mrs. Marjorie Ann Gray March in Millville at 2301 E. 3rd Street while their home was under construction. The W. H. Marshall family had three children during their early years in Millville: daughter Evelyn (born 1909), son Wayne (born 1910) and son Francis (born 1913). When Bay County was created in 1913 W. H. Marshall was elected the first Bay County Clerk of Court in the first primary. At that time they moved to Panama City. W. H. Marshall served for 16 years as Bay County Clerk of Court. After leaving the office of Clerk of Circuit Court he worked for the Coca Cola Bottling Company of Panama City from the early 1930s until his death in 1951. He died 18 March 1951 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery..
