First Families of Bay County Certificate Awards
During 2009 this program generated a huge amount of interest in the history, heritage, and pioneers of Bay County. This June we presentied 44 certificates to 16 descendants honoring 12 Bay County pioneers, 10 of whom were previously undocumneted. We also presented one researcher certificate.

The awards were presented at the Annual Pioneer Picnic, sponsored by the Historical Society of Bay County, at the Grace Presbyterian Church, 1415 Airport Road, Panama City, Florida.

BCGS is now accepting applications for the 2011 awards ceremoney. In order to be accepted for the First Families of Bay County awards ceremony in June 2011, applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2011. Applications received after that date will be considered for the 2012 awards ceremony.
