Preserving Our Genealogy Research by Janice Cronan

A Power Point presentation about how to ensure that our treasured genealogy collection will be available for future generations. Where do I start, what do I keep, and how do I keep it?

Genealogy After Hours

Janice Cronan joined the Bay County Genealogical Society after attending the Fall Seminar in 2009. The next year she was asked to speak on Military Records, and has continued speaking on timely topics like the 1940 Census, Genetic Genealogy, Family Tree Maker software, and Civil War Ancestors. She has served the society as Budget & Finance Chair, FSGS Liason, Fall and Spring Seminar Chair, and is currently serving as the Corresponding Secretary and editor of Tracing Pasts and The County Line newsletter. In 2012 she received the BCGS President's Citation Award for service and leadership. She is a member of the following historical and genealogy societies: West Florida and Georgia Genealogy Society, South Carolina & Old Pendelton District Genealogy Society, the St. Andrew Bay DAR and Confederate Salt Works UDC. She serves on the Florida State Genealogy Society board as Trustee.
