Slavery in the Land of the Free. Why? How? by Judy Bennett.
Judy is a long time member of the Bay County Genealogical Society and frequent presenter. In her presentation she will describe how she found many of her ancestors were slave owners. In her research she has found answers to her questions of why and how this took place in a land which was founded on freedom. She says the "why" can be answered in one word, but the "how" can only be found within the context of history.
