Some People Say Tracing Your Ancestors Is Too Difficult

Well, that might be true, unless....

James McNee!

You have a road map.

That's where the Bay County
Genealogical Society can help.

You wouldn't plan a trip to visit
your grandchildren without a
road map.

Don't try to find your ancestors
without one, either.

The most difficult part of starting
your family research is knowing
where and how to start.

You can save a lot of time and
effort by letting our staff show you
the shortcuts to successful family
research used by experts.

You can do it.

Have you often wanted to learn more about your ancestors but didn't know how to start? Or perhaps you have already started but don't know what to do next. This Fall, seven local experts will show you a methodical approach to family history discovery and a comprehensive introduction to the most important genealogical resources, repositories, and references. The sessions are organized so that you are exposed to different records and methodologies in the order that you will need them as you work back up your pedigree. We believe it is easier to learn stuff if you can see an immediate application for it and if you can see how it connects to other things you are already familiar with.

The public is invited, and everyone is welcome. Lunch included. Free juice, water, coffee, pastries, handouts, and valuable door prizes will be provided.

We invite you to join us for a great learning experience and an opportunity to meet and chat with other local area genealogists and family historians who share your interests—and perhaps—even some of your ancestors....

Please use the Site Contents bar above to view our schedule and session outline, or to print a registration form.
