Board meeting called to order by Chuck McPherson at 7:31 pm.
Lorelei filled in as secretary. Chuck filled in as president. Chuck
welcomed back Martha Coachman McBride.
Members present included: Joe Turner, Buddy Gross, Bob Delack, Joan Turner,
Shirley Gallatas, Bettie Mease, Dean Robinson, Mike Sanders, Marvin Moore,
Jay Rhodes, Bill Wallace, Bob Valentine, Chuck McPherson, James Warren
Coachman, Jr., Martha McBride, and Lorelei Keif.
Minutes of February 4, 2008 corrected and approved.
Treasurer's report given. Balance as of 3-03-08 was $11,609.16. We were
recently charged for a false alarm. First one in a long time.
OLD BUSINESS
A. Membership Committee- Bettie Mease
We have a new lifetime member. Annual memberships are coming in. Milton
Jones, an original member, recently passed away. Mike Sanders sent our
condolences.
B. Program Committee- Jay Rhodes
Jay addressed possible future problems with Ross Norton because a playground
will be built in June where we park and cook. Jay is exploring possible new
locations. Issue of raising the price of tickets was discussed. Joe
conveyed that rising costs have greatly decreased any profit we make. Jay
moved that we raise tickets to $10 for adults and $5 for children. Motion
seconded by Lorelei. Motion carried.
C. Public Relations- Dean Robinson
CHS continues to be present in local press. Mike requested we send letters
of recognition to individuals who have helped preserve Clearwater history.
He will draft a letter to Jim Moyles. We received a letter from the
Pinellas Genealogy Society thanking us for our ad in their program.
Received a thank you from Delphi Academy school children.
D. Museum Committee- Dave Perkins and Mike Sanders
M Johnson donated an East Lake rocker. Mike Sanders will pick it up.
George Fulmer donated a Blackburn Bomber photo. A window was recently
broken in the living room. Our Thursday crew was able to make the repair.
E. Artifacts and Documents Committee- Joan Turner
Preservation Committee- Mike Sanders
Joe donated a few pieces of literature from past local elections. Martha
donated an old family blue back speller that belonged to her grandparents
form 1908. Martha also gave us an audio of her father being interviewed
about Clearwater history. Mary Hancock donated a 1934 Clearwater High
School football program.
F. Historical Research Committee- Pat Moore

G. Fund Raising Committee- Helen Wilcox

H. Homestead Committee- Lorelei Keif and Anne Epling
Sign up sheet was passed around for Saturday shifts at the museum. We are
in need of more people to sign up.
NEW BUSINESS
Bike Florida has requested we have the house open for tours during their
upcoming event. No interest expressed by members to participate.
Joe presented a report on our home owners insurance. He met with his agent
and our attorney. We satisfy our lease agreement with our current policy.
Nothing can be deleted from our current coverage. We thank Joe and Jim
Coachman for their time involves with this endeavor.
Motion to adjourn was made by Bettie . Second by Bob. Meeting adjourned at
