"Dear DeSoto County Genealogist,
    I just went to Arcadia to research the murder of my cousin, Howard Jordan.  I found an old newspaper article about his murder and would like to give it to you to put on the Desoto GenWeb site.  It appeared in the Arcadian on May 5, 1927.  Although the murder was on April 20, 1927 and happened in Limestone, Hardee County, it did make it in the Arcadian and I do think the actual death was in Arcadia as this is where Mr. Jordan was buried.  Howard was born in 1896 in Manningham, Butler County, Alabama to George and Jeffie L. Jordan.  He grew up in Santa Rosa County, Fl.  He was married and I do not know her name.  He was murdered on April 20, 1927 in Limestone, Fl. I am looking form more records of the trial of Hattie Butler and to find what became of her.  I look forward to seeing this on the web site."
