Varnie Virginia Sloan, 88, of 1507 Windermere Ave. died Saturday. A native of Fort Ogden(n), (s)he had lived in Tampa for 36 years. She was a retired bookkeeper and genealogist and was active in the Genealogical Society for 20 years and for 10 years was in charge of the Tampa Genealogical Society Library in her home. Survivors include her sisters, Lucille Merritt of Pensacola, Myrtle E. Morris of Sacramento, Calif., and Mildred D. Bagley of Zephyrhills; one brother, John E. of St. Petersburg; and several nieces and nephews. John S. Rhodes Funeral Home.
