Obituary of Willoughby Daniel
Whidden
W. D. Whidden

Willoughby Daniel Whidden, 68, forman
at the Florida Baptist Children's Home for the past 13 years, died at the
Arcadia General Hospital last Saturday, October 26, after being a patient
there for several days.
Mr. Whidden was a native of DeSoto
county and had lived here all of his life. He was a deacon in the North
Hillsboro Avenue Baptist church for the past several years.
Besides his widow, he leaves to survive,
two brothers, William Lacey Whidden of Arcadia and James Otto Whidden of
Moore Haven; two sisters, Mrs. Sally Connor of Fort Ogden and Mrs. Florence
Trembley of Akron, Ohio; two children, W. D. Whidden, jr. of Arcadia and
Mrs. Melon? Ashley of Indianapolis, Ind., and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday
afternoon at 3 oclock at the North Hillsboro Baptist church conducted by
Rev. Carl Alderman, assisted by T. M. Johns. The choir from the Children's
Home sang at the service and boys from the Home acted as pallbearers. They
were Frank Jeffcoat?, Carl Adams, (illegible)
