Early Hotel...The Herald-Advocate, July
1, 1976. "Pictured above is one of Wauchula's first hotels, the Hotel
DeSoto. It was located about where Slaughter Moter Sales now has its building.
(1976) The hotel was one of Wauchula's first hotels, built in the early
1900's by T.B. Cason for his father, Dennis Cason and was operated a Pa
and Ma Vestal.Standing on the porch of the hotel are Miss Selma Stenstrom,
Mr. and Mrs. Vestal, Mrs. Dennis Cason, an unidentified girl, Dennis Cason,
Mrs. S.W. Conroy, and Sadie Conroy. In front of the porch are
Miss Vera Cason and S.W. Conroy, former clerk of court. The picture belongs
to Mrs. Marjorie Cason Durrance."
