The Genealogical Society of Broward County Annual Installation Luncheon, was held at the new "Plantation Preserve Country Club", SW 70 Ave. & Broward Boulevard, at 12 noon. The new officers were installed and the large turnout was enjoyed by all.

Robert Koltnow spoke on "Courthouse Research".
Bob Koltnow is an attorney who is not only extremely knowledgeable about the ins and outs of courthouse research, but an expert in Genealogy too!

Helen Landers, the Broward County Historian, presented a forum to the group entitled, "Letters from the Past to the Present". Attendees were invited to bring letters of their own to share and a lively discussion was enjoyed.

Marilyn Rathbune, the Education Director of the Old Ft. Lauderdale Village & Museum introduced us to the Resources and collections which are located in the Old Ft. Lauderdale Village & Museum. She explained their holdings and how they can aid in research.

Lucia St. Clair Robson, a prize winning historical author and specialist in historical fiction, presented a very lively and interesting program on her latest book, "Shadow Patriots: A Novel of the Revolution".

Ms. Robson was awarded the Golden Spur for the year's best historical fiction. The tales of her research and the development of her characters were fascinating. Many people purchased some of her books. If anyone missed it and would like a copy of one of her books, she will be more than happy to mail them to us.

The meeting was held on the 4th floor of the Alvin Sherman Library, on the Nova Southeastern University Campus in Davie.
