| Survey by Doris Pamplinon-Dyer e-mail edyer@bellsouth.net early 1980's. | ||||
| At one time in the early & middle part of the 1900s there was a nice size cemetery on Hwy 90 west about 3 miles from the town of Cottondale. | ||||
| I have not been able to find out what the name of the cemetery was (I am naming it Barfield Cemetery, bjs) | ||||
| It has long since been turned under, I do know it was on the Tharp homestead. | ||||
| The Jackie Johnson family who now owns the farm was out plowing the fields when Mr. Johnson's plow hit something. | ||||
| He climbed off his tractor to investigate and found 2 headstones. | ||||
| I was told a little about this cemetery from some older people in Cottondale but no one remembers the name of the | ||||
| people buried in it. I find it hard to believe that people can be so cruel…. | ||||
