Dist 4, Page 9, Dwelling/Family 96  The sexes of family members 3 and 4 are swapped. Member 3 should be: CHUMNEY JA W M 25 son, Member 4 should be: CHUMNEY GA W F 23 dau. I know the above is true from other census records and the fact that JA (John A.) Chumney is my GGrandfather.

In District 5, the names are wrong. It is John Pittman not Job Pittman, daughter Johnie should be Sophie Pittman, daughter Etta should be Ella Pittman, son Denville? should be Daniel, daughter Harriet should be Hattie. Sophie Pittman married to Sam McNeal and Ella Pittman marriage to Emanuel Scarborough are confirmed against the 1848-1900 Marriage records and Hattie is confirmed against the 1900-1973 marriage records to Payton Bell.

Dist ??  Richison Parrish,  page 0394a, JAC  Is it possible to check this out as to why he is not listed on your 1885 census? I looked in the alphabet index for both surname Parrish and also checked for surname Richison. Nothing there. The surname is PARRISH. from JCrane6990@aol.com

Jackson Co FL 1880 census corrections

All persons listed as Doffin should be Daffin.

In the 1880 Census on p. 573, 39-38-- all the McDavids should be McDaniel. Family of Holland McDaniel. She is listed in many Jackson Co. censuses.

Jackson Co FL 1870 census corrections

All persons listed as Doffin should be Daffin.

Jackson Co FL 1860 census corrections

I noted in the 1850 census and the 1860 census that there were mistakes with my ancestors name. In 1850, the name Minchew should be Minchin, as the 1860 has Mincheu rather than Minchin. There is also a Minchin/Neal cemetery in Jackson Co. and there were at least three Minchins in the War of Northern Agression. They were Nathaniel, Edward and Joseph. We are stuck with our research. We only go back as far as Christopher C. Minchin in 1800's.
