Date: JUNE 16, 2001 - Saturday
Time: 9am - 4pm
Place: Joy Club, Malone, Florida
All descendants of Joseph & Hester 'Hetty' Coonrod are cordially invited to "come home" for a family reunion. The children of Joseph & Hester Coonrod are:
Elizabeth Coonrod m) Addison Fullerton - No known descendants
William H. Conrad m) Saluda A. Whitfield
John Coonrod m) Elizabeth Ann Baxter
Thomas F. Conrad m) Nancy Martin
Lorenzo D. Conrad m) Susan A. Sheperd
Joseph M. Conrad m) Mary Ann Dickson/Dixon
Sarah C. Coonrod m) Thomas Anderson
Andrew M. Conrad m1) Sarah Kesiah Ditty m2) Sarah Ann Elizabeth Floyd
Charles L. Conrad m) Frances A. Gladden
Darling S. Conrad - Killed CSA - No known descendants
At the Conrad Reunion 2000 we had in attendance 102 people, some from as far away as California representing all but two of the children known to have descendants. We visited the family cemeteries - placed confederate flags in memory of those who served in the CSA, enjoyed a great potluck feast, exchanged family history information, and visited with cousins who we hadn't seen for years. Everyone had a great time. The kids got together and formed a Conrad Cousin Pen Pal Club and will write to each other during the year until the next reunion. We have decided to publish a family history book and plan to have a draft available at our 2001 Reunion. We hope our next reunion will bring even more descendants "home".
Accommodations: We have again put rooms on hold at the Hampton Inn in Marianna on Hwy 71 at I-10. We have reserved 10 non-smoking double rooms and 5 smoking double rooms on both upper and lower levels for Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16. Contact the Hampton Inn at 850-526-1006 to put your name on one of the rooms. When making your reservation give the following confirmation #85085708 for special group rate of $62 plus tax per night, which includes breakfast. Rooms now have microwave ovens and refrigerators. Rooms not claimed will be released to the public. There are several other hotels in the surrounding area.
Friday, June 15 - Dinner and Social will be planned for the evening of Friday, June 15, for those who wish to attend. We did this last year and enjoyed it so much we decided to do it again. We will meet about 6:00pm CST in the lobby of the Hampton Inn and go to a local restaurant, perhaps the Chuck Wagon in Chipley if they have completed their rebuilding after last summer's fire.
Saturday, June 16 - Reunion will be held at the Joy Club in Malone. We will gather at 9am and leave on a driving tour of the community where our ancestors first settled and will include the Coonrod Cemetery as one of our stops. We will return about 11:30am to the Joy Club and at noon we will have a short business meeting followed by a potluck dinner. After lunch we will have visiting and exchanging of family history information. Bring your old photos of years past to share and remember those no longer with us. Also bring with you any information of births, marriages, or deaths in the family during the past year so that it may be recorded and included in our family history.
So come and bring the whole family - we want to meet all of our cousins and that they may meet their cousins so that our family ties will endure throughout the generations.
Additional information will be posted as the event date approaches.

I attempted to contact one of the names listed as a contact for the Lupo family at the Jackson County, Florida GenWeb site and the message bounced. Do you update these addresses yourself, or is it the responsibility of the person who's listed to update his/her address when it changes?
I have some information on the Lupo family, members of whom lived in Jackson County, Florida for a time, but I'd like to correspond with someone who has more and possibly different information on these family members.
I thought the site looked great, though! I'm glad to see folks putting these records out on the 'net for those of us who can't afford to travel all over the country tracking down leads. :) Matt Lupo http://www.webcom.com/hamlet/genealogy/

After dinner, friends and family gather informally under the tabernacle to exchange genealogy information. Children are always welcomed and encouraged to attend. This reunion was begun in 1903 and has been held annually since. Originally the families of John S. Williams, David Williams and Owen Williams (sons of Arrabicca Goff and Frederick Williams) started the reunion and all descendants and friends are invited to attend. Today, the reunion is carried on mainly by the descendants of Andrew Elton Williams (son of John S. Williams). Please plan to join us on the first Saturday in October. Williams Family Reunion at Galilee Methodist Church (between Chipley and Graceville), Jackson County, Florida. Cindy has posted a note for us and just wanted to make sure that as much of West Florida was covered as possible. The Reunion will be at 9:30 on Saturday, October 2, 1999 with registration starting about 9:30 Central Time. Jack Golden will be our speaker and then there will be a covered dinner at mid-day (drinks and paper products will be provided). After we eat, those interested in the genealogy of our Williams family are invited to participate in very informal discussions under the tabernacle. The reunion is primarily of the descendants of Andrew Elton Williams (born 1800 in Bulloch County, Georgia)but we welcome others who might be able to help sort out all of these Williamses. Thank you for helping us. Sissy Williams Howell

Decendants of Terrance Wimberly (1838-1928) and Caroline Folsom (1842-1932) gather each year for a reunion on the 3rd Saturday in July at the Altha Community Center in Altha, Calhoun County, Florida. Terrance was the son of Patrick Leavey and Sarah (Sally) Gay. Patrick came to U.S. from Ireland via Liverpool, England. Was naturalized in Philadelphia PA in 1826. Settled in Jackson Co. Florida. Drowned crossing the Choctawhatchee River on horseback around 1840 and is believed to be buried at Point Washington, Florida. His widow, Sally then married Isaac Wimberly in 1842 and Terrance took the name Wimberly. We have record of most of Terrance and Caroline's descendants. Bring your picnic basket with your good home cooking and join us this year on 3rd Saturday in July in Altha at 10 a.m. We'll spread lunch at noon.
