(to see larger
picture click here) Top row, left to right are: Cecil Ritter, Estelle Hanna, Elvia Hanna, Ada Hagood, Nancy Ritter, Chester Cooper, Joe Newberry, Carl McDaniel, Hovie Morris, Emmaline Newberry, Bethanie Newberry, Clara Hanna, Addie Taylor.
Middle row, left to right: Miss Annie Gilbourn (teacher), Senella Poitevint, Mattie Cooper, Susie Poston, Helen Morris, Home Johns, Tim Taylor, Dan McDaniel, Fred Johns, Alma Hanna, Jimme McDonald, Tommie Newberry, Emma Newberry, David Newberry.
Third row, left to right; bottom: Allie Newberry, Dave Taylor, Erastus Ritter, Flomer G (Nitsy) McDaniel, Duncan McDaniel, Walter Hanna, John David McDonald, Evelyn Hanna, Harmon Hanna, Walter McDonald, Jim Johns, Dan Newberry, Lawson Chance. The only person still living is Emmaline Newberry. She lives in Quincy and is 95 years old. There were seven children and except for one they all lived long lives and died in the same order they were born. Emmaline was born last and still living. Hannatown is just over the FL - GA line so Hannatown, GA children went to school with Mt Zion children (Glory Community). Then the FL parents got upset about paying the bill without Hannatown parents help. So Hanna Town had to build their own school. I don't think any of Hannatown children are living today. |
