Florida Society of Mayflower Descendants Annual Meeting
November 22, 2003

James Chilton Colony received its charter by unanimous vote at the 66th Annual Florida State Society of Mayflower Descendants meeting held in Winter Haven, Florida, on November 22, 2003. The fledgling colony held its charter luncheon and installation of officers on Saturday, January 10, 2004, at The Villages, Florida. George Allerton, Governor, FSMD, presided over the installation ceremony.

Since 2004, James Chilton Colony has enjoyed many interesting and informative presentations by numerous guest speakers on a variety of topics, hosted the Florida State Society annual meeting, sponsored the FSMD scholarship recipient, and presented programs in the local schools to educate our youth on their Pilgrim forefathers and mothers. We also have a large number of Junior members.
